Following a recent assessment, GSSArchitecture are delighted to announce that they have once again achieved Investors in People Gold standard.
Investors in People is a globally recognised standard for people management, with a focus on the development of employees and the improvement of business performance. The accreditation is awarded to companies who demonstrate a commitment to investing in their people and creating a workplace that is inclusive, supportive, and engaging.
GSS first gained recognition in 1997; one of the first architectural practices in the UK to be awarded this accolade. The practice has been re-assessed every three years to prove ongoing compliance with the standard. The detailed assessment involved individual interviews with the team, as well as members of Senior Management and several Partners. GSS achieved 100% participation from their team for the online survey assessments, which is above the national average of 77%.
Speaking of their recent success, Managing Partner Ian Bray, said, “We are delighted with the engagement from the GSS team and really pleased to have been awarded the Gold standard once again. It is fantastic to have everyone involved in the development of the business and we encourage all our teams to give feedback on how we can help ensure they have a great working environment and a healthy work-life balance.”
In their individual interviews, GSS team members commented, “I’ve been given so many opportunities to learn and develop”, “The apprenticeship scheme here is well organised… the company puts a lot into it” and “Our values are instinctive… it’s how we work.”
The Investors in People report said, “At GSS, there is a culture of continuous learning, and people are encouraged to progress in their careers. Leaders and managers are trusted, invest time in the development of people, and motivate them to deliver outcomes, and people feel empowered to make decisions and take the lead in improving processes.”
The Practice has a very long history of providing opportunities, training, and support in the profession, and has recently celebrated several successes, including Shannon Walker who, supported by GSS, recently completed her architectural apprenticeship, making her a fully qualified Chartered Architect.
